This beautiful mix is from a group named after the famous Dutch painter and were highly sought after during the ‘tulip mania’ of the 17th century. The stunning array of flames, streaks, bars and strips on the petals are actually caused by a naturally occurring ‘breaking virus’.

It’s easy to see why tulips are the most popular of all autumn planting bulbs. Such a huge range of varieties and types and so easy to grow, they provide lots of colour with the minimum of effort. Long flowering too, with some varieties blooming in March and others into early June and of course they’re brilliant for cut flowers.
