Tomato Coeur de Boeuf Grafted Vegetable Plants
Tomato Coeur de Boeuf Grafted Vegetable Plants are very different from other tomatoes. This large beefsteak variety is characterised by its distinctive shape and mouth-watering texture and flavour. The fruits are very meaty and fleshy, ripening from the inside out, and look particularly attractive when sliced for Mediterranean-style salads with mozzarella and olive oil. Indeterminate.
Grafted vegetable plants offer gardeners greater vigour and much stronger resistance to soil-borne pests and diseases, such as nematodes – particularly useful if you grow in greenhouse border soil each year, where crop rotation is somewhat limited. The grafting process brings together the best attributes of two different plants – a species rootstock and a hybrid variety.
The hybrid variety is grafted to the species rootstock to produce plants which are strong and vigorous, resulting in more fruits and heavier yields. Although traditionally greenhouse grown, they will also crop well when placed in a warm and sunny position outdoors – even more reason to grow them.
Supplied as well-established plants in 9cm pots. Please note – do not remove the plastic grafting clip. It will fall off naturally as the plant grows.
