Potato Maris Piper (Maincrop Seed Potato)

Maris Piper seed potatoes are a quintessential British favourite, and for good reason. This maincrop variety produces large, oval tubers with a creamy-white flesh and a floury texture, making it the go-to choice for perfect chips, roast potatoes, and mash.

These potatoes thrive in well-drained, fertile soil and prefer full sun. As with most maincrop seed potatoes, chitting before planting is not necessary. Plant them in spring, about 10-15 cm (4-6 inches) deep and 30-40 cm (12-16 inches) apart.

Maris Pipers typically mature in 20 to 22 weeks and produce great yields, another reason for their popularity. They're known for their good resistance to common potato diseases, including eelworm and blight, too. All of our seed potatoes are certified "Safe Haven" or equivalent status, providing protection from bacterial ring rot and other harmful organisms.

Grow your own chip-shop quality potatoes with our Maris Piper seed potatoes. Pair them with our onion sets for a classic combo, or explore our range of herb seeds to complement your potato dishes. Check out our full selection of seed potatoes for more inspiration to fill your veg patch and your plate.
